At TMC, having our equipment PAT Tested is often a customer prerequisite  to take it on to their sites.  We have occasionally found it difficult to find an available PAT Tester on short notice, threatening to compromise the support we can give our customers.

 

To allow us to provide our customers with the best possible support, TMC have added PAT Testing to their range of services.  This ensures that all our equipment has its PAT Testing kept up to date.  TMC are happy to open up this service to other organisations.  

 

Portable Appliance Testing

The best way of ensuring that your appliances are safe is to have a PAT test carried out on them. This is a good way for owners to ensure that they are meeting any legal obligations to maintain high standards of electrical safety in their property.

 

Engineers

Electrical work must only be carried out by people who have the necessary knowledge, skill and experience needed to avoid danger to themselves and others.

 

TMC PAT Test Engineers are fully qualified and trained to the highest standards.  Our engineers are PAT Certified, TUV Certified, Degree Qualified, Chartered and Security Cleared.

 

Using the highest specification dedicated PAT testing equipment and software by Seaward Electronics, we are able to provide a thorough, efficient, high quality, low cost portable appliance testing service, in accordance with the IEE IET Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.

 

We are constantly developing and seek to provide maximum quality of service with a minimum of disruption to the customer.

 

Process

To establish the safety and suitability of your electrical appliances, TMC carry out a visual inspection of the appliance, its plug and lead. The appliance is then connected to the PAT Tester which test the insulation resistance, continuity and integrity of the appliance, depending on its classification.

Upon completion of the inspection and testing you will receive a report that details the following as a minimum:

 

• A PAT Certificate
• A visible pass or fail label on each appliance detailing the inspection date and next test due date.
• A Set of test results for each appliance tested.

 

Planning

TMC PAT Testing have the flexibility to work out of hours to minimise the impact on your organisation.

 

Our Engineers regularly perform testing in the evenings and at weekends, to work around our customer’s normal business hours.

 

PAT Testing can be performed at our test facility in Warninglid, or at your premises.

 

TMC PAT Testing can arrange to collect and deliver your appliances, alternatively you are welcome to bring items to us.
